Privacy Policy

Data we collect

• Account: a guest session is created automatically when you arrive, without asking for any personal data. If you choose to link your Google account, we receive your email address and an account identifier through Firebase Authentication.
• Game data: username, avatar, trophies, XP, streaks, match results, friends list, learning progress and statistics. Stored in Firebase Realtime Database (Google), and shared with the Android app: with the same account, your progress is the same on both.
• Data kept in your browser: settings (language, theme, sound) and a local copy of your progress, in the browser's own storage. It never leaves your device except to sync with your account.
• Analytics: we use Google Analytics to measure aggregate usage of the game: which screens and modes are opened, and the approximate country, device type and browser that Google infers automatically. We never cross-reference this with advertising identifiers or sell it, and you can block it with any tracker blocker.

What the web does NOT do

• No purchases: there are no payments of any kind. Coins are earned by playing. (The "Geolympia Plus" subscription is only purchased inside the Android app; if you have Plus there, this site recognizes and honors your account, but processes no payment of its own.)
• No notifications: the site sends no push notifications.

Data we never ask for

The site does not access your location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera.

How we use data

• To provide game features: profiles, 1v1 duels, weekly leagues, rankings and friends.
• To save your progress and sync it between web and mobile.
• To keep the service running.

Legal basis for processing

We process your game data to perform the contract you accept by playing (providing the service: profile, matches, leagues, friends). Linking your Google account is your choice, so it rests on your consent, which you can withdraw by deleting your account. Technical upkeep of the service (for example, clearing out expired match sessions) rests on our legitimate interest in keeping the game running securely. Analytics (Google Analytics) and advertising (Google AdSense) rest entirely on your explicit consent, given in the cookie banner when you arrive — without it, neither is activated, and you can withdraw it anytime from Settings → Cookie preferences.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. It is processed by Google services (Firebase Authentication, Realtime Database and, only with your consent, Analytics and AdSense) under their own policies: Google Privacy Policy and Firebase Privacy. If you use Geolympia Plus (purchased in the Android app, same account as this site), your subscription data is also processed by RevenueCat, our subscription management platform: it receives your Firebase uid as a subscriber identifier and your purchase history, under its own privacy policy.

Cookies and consent

The essentials (your sign-in session and local settings) need no permission: without them the game cannot save your progress or session. Analytics and advertising are independent categories in the cookie banner when you arrive: you can accept one and reject the other, and each decision only activates what you accepted. You can change either one anytime from Settings → Cookie preferences. Google explains in detail which cookies its ad partners use in its ad partners policy.

• Analytics: Google Analytics, described above under "Data we collect".
• Advertising: Google AdSense may show ads using cookies and advertising identifiers, including personalization based on your interests. We do not show ads on this site yet (the AdSense account is pending approval), but consent is requested from the start, before any are activated.

International transfers

Firebase (Google) processes and stores your data on its infrastructure, which may be located outside your country, including the United States. If you are in the European Economic Area, that transfer relies on Google's standard contractual clauses and its certification under the applicable data protection framework.

Retention and deletion

Game data is kept while your account exists. You can delete your account and all your data from this site, in Settings → Delete account and data, or by writing to the contact address. Email requests are processed within 30 days. Ongoing duel matches and survival rooms are temporary: if not closed sooner, they are automatically deleted after roughly 24 hours.

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g. GDPR in the EU or equivalent laws), you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below. If you are in the European Union, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your country's data protection authority.

Children

The site is not specifically directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us to remove it.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the "last updated" date.
